China-Germany Youth Cross-Cultural Exchange Project
The China-Gemany Youth Cross-Cultural Exchange Project was established in 2016. The project was launched by the Stiftung Mercator and organized by YFU and BCAF. In the context of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany, the 2017 cultural exchange program was led by the well-known Chinese contemporary choreographer Wen Hui and her team. During the four-day program, 24 Chinese and German teenagers aged between 15 to 18 worked together to discuss body language art, and share and learn about each other’s cultural identities. Through the project, they grasped the importance of understanding cultural differences, and learnt to help and accepted help, and built mutual trust.
