BCAF x Little Red Book ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage on New’ Special Fund Established | BCAF Art Charity

‘Intangible City Not City’ Innovative Theme Forum and China International Fashion Week x Little Red Book “Intangible Cultural Heritage on New” Charity Support Program Launch Ceremony was successfully held on September 7th at the 751 Library in Beijing. The event, themed "Exploring the Integration and Innovation of Intangible Cultural Heritage and Fashion", was hosted by Little Red Book Charity and co-organised by BCAF, CFDA, REDlabel, and Fashion Designer magazine.

The launch ceremony announced the establishment of the BCAF-Little Red Book Intangible Cultural Heritage Online special fund. The special fund will establish 'Little Red Book Rural Workshops' in rural areas. These will enable one-on-one cooperation between intangible cultural heritage artisans and young designers. They will also support activities such as designer residency research, work design and production, and exhibitions abroad.

The 'Intangible Cultural Heritage on New Retail' project started in Yunnan in May. It has set up more than ten workshops in Dali, Lijiang and other places. The project helps artisans and young designers work together on the Little Red Book platform to make traditional crafts in new ways. At the launch, the fashion designs were shown for the first time.

At the ceremony, BCAF held a discussion on combining intangible cultural heritage and fashion. Liu Yan, Yi Xin, Zhang Hanmin, Louis Shengtao Chen and Deng Chunxu took part. The discussion looked at how to combine traditional crafts with modern design and how to make products and lifestyles more closely connected.

During the 2024 China International Fashion Week, the 'Intangible City Not City' exhibition was held at the 751 Library in Beijing. It displayed co-created intangible cultural heritage fashion works to help traditional crafts flourish.
